Benfica are showing interest in Juventus winger Eljero Elia, Portuguese newspaper A Bola reveals.
The Dutch forward only joined the Bianconeri last summer in a €9 million deal from Hamburger SV, but he is already pondering his future.
The 25-year-old has seen his playing time at Juventus Arena extremely limited, having amassed just 5 competitive appearances during the course of the season.
Elia recently admitted he was looking to leave Turin at the end of the season and A Bola claims Benfica are prepared to offer him an escape route.
The Eagles have just completed the signing of Ola John from Twente, but with Nicolas Gaitan and one more forward expected to leave this summer, they want to sign Elia as well.
It remains to be seen whether Benfica will try to sign the Dutchman on loan or on permanent transfer, but either way, the player is expected to arrive at La Luz in the summer transfer window.
