Reigning Portuguese champions Benfica have been linked with a summer swoop for Trabzonspor attacking midfielder Yusuf Yazici, the Turkish media report.
The 21-year-old has this season emerged as one of the hottest properties in Turkey with his flying form alarming the likes of Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United among others.
With a whole host of Europe’s top clubs said to be eyeing an opportunity to land him this summer, Portuguese behemoths Benfica have joined the pack in an attempt to beat the opposition to Yazici’s signature.
Benfica are on the lookout for a replacement for Anderson Talisca who is set for a permanent stay with Besiktas and Yusuf Yazici has been pinpointed as the firm target for the Eagles.
Yazici is valued at £17.5 but Trabzonspor are expected to be reluctant to part with their key asset and are likely to demand a more lucrative transfer fee given the increased competition for his signature.
