Primeira Liga outfit Benfica plan to try and recruit Brazilian midfielder Casemiro from Real Madrid, according to O Jogo.
The Eagles expect to cash in on Argentina star Enzo Perez and were hoping to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Joshua Guilavogui as his replacement.
But, with the Frenchman preferring a move to Germany, Benfica have turned their attention towards Casemiro.
The Eagles chairman Luis Filipe Vieira has spoken with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez about the possibility of signing the Brazilian starlet.
According to O Jogo, Benfica hope to either sign the player on a season-long loan or buy half of his contract from los Blancos, just like they did when recruiting Ezequiel Garay.
Casemiro, 22, joined Real Madrid in a low-profile move from Sao Paulo in February 2013, but he has managed to show a great deal of potential at Santiago Bernabeu, making a total of 26 competitive appearances for the Spanish giants.
