Portuguese giants Benfica are hot on the trail of Independiente midfielder Ezequiel Barco, according to Record.

The Eagles are determined to bring the 18-year-old to Estadio da Luz at the earliest opportunity and they recently offered to pay €5 million for 70% of the player’s economic rights.

However, Independiente would rather sell the entire stake in the talented footballer and they want €10 million for his services.

And while Benfica have no plans to spend so much money on the player who only has eight league starts to his name, they hope Colombian side Millonarios will help them wrap up the deal.

Namely, the two clubs established a cooperation in November 2016 and they could work together to sign Ezequiel Barco in the summer.

The Argentina Under-20 international has so far made 20 league appearances for Independiente, scoring 2 goals in the process, and he was also linked with AC Milan in the past.
