Benfica keen on Juan Iturbe; Illarramendi returns to Real Sociedad

hot-transfer-newsBenfica keen on Juan Iturbe

Portuguese giants Benfica are stepping up their efforts to sign Argentine winger Juan Manuel Iturbe from AS Roma, according to TVI 24.

The 22-year-old has failed to prove his worth at Stadio Olimpico and it would appear as though he is currently not in the first team plans of coach Rudi Garcia.

As a result, Iturbe is widely expected to leave the Giallorossi before the summer transfer window closes and Benfica appear to be leading the chase for his signature.

The midfielder’s agent is already in Lisbon, trying to agree a season-long loan with the Eagles, while Genoa are another side showing interest in his services.

Iturbe made a name for himself playing for Hellas Verona on loan from Porto, and he then completed a big money move to AS Roma.

The talented footballer went on to make 27 league appearances for the Giallorossi, but could only score two goals in the process.

Illarramendi returns to Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad have secured the return of the prodigal son as they have agreed a deal with Real Madrid for Asier Illarramendi, according to AS.

The Spanish midfielder was looking for a way out of Santiago Bernabeu following the arrival of Mateo Kovacic and he will now be returning to Anoeta.

Illarramendi also had suitors among England’s top sides, but Real Sociedad were the first club to make a concrete offer for his services.

With Real Madrid having accepted a €17 million proposal for the 25-year-old footballer, he has already travelled to San Sebastian to undergo a medical and sign a long-term contract.

Illarramendi had made a total of 54 La Liga appearances for La Real before moving to Madrid two years ago, but he couldn’t quite live up to the billing at the Bernabeu.

Buoyed by the arrival of the high-profile footballer, Real Sociedad can be backed at 1/1 to defeat newcomers Sporting Gijon.

Monaco bid for Newcastle starlet

French giants Monaco have submitted an official proposal for Newcastle youngster Olivier Kemen, France Football has revealed.

The Principality club offered €500,000 for the talented midfielder, but were informed it would take on offer in the region of €1 million to prize the footballer away from St James’ Park.

Hence, Monaco could return with an improved bid in the coming days, but they are not the only top side showing interest in the 19-year-old.

Liverpool and Tottenham are believed to be keeping close tabs on the Frenchman, who is tipped to make an impact in Newcastle’s first team.

And despite new manager Steve McClaren praising the midfielder, Kemen has yet to be included in a match squad this season.

The former Metz footballer has impressed playing for France Under-19 side, but he has yet to prove his worth in senior football.
