Portuguese giants Benfica plan to sign Rafa Silva from Sporting Braga as a replacement for star player Nicolas Gaitan, A Bola can reveal.
It is now clear that the Argentine footballer will be joining Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window and the Eagles believe the Portugal international would be a perfect replacement.
Benfica are ready to get the deal wrapped up as soon as possible, although they are waiting for super agent Jorge Mendes to return from England, where he is negotiating Jose Mourinho’s move to Manchester United.
Rafa Silva is widely regarded as one of Primeira Liga’s leading performers, and he appears ready for a big club move.
The 23-year-old has scored 8 goals in 30 league outings this season and he has been named in Portugal’s Euro 2016 squad.
Following the injury to Bernardo Silva, Rafa Silva is widely expected to be in the starting line-up when the Selecao face Iceland in their opening fixture.
