According to O Jogo, Portuguese giants Benfica are indeed interested in bringing Renato Sanches back to the club. The 20-year-old spent ten years there from a young age, honing his craft and becoming a household name before eventually securing a big money move to Bayern Munich. After failing to really make much of an impact in Germany he was shipped off to play for Swansea City, where he made very little impact during their relegation from the Premier League.
Despite his recent setbacks, Sanches is indeed still only 20 years of age, and likely has at least another decade in the sport – so long as he can re-discover the form that initially put him on the map. Perhaps returning back to his homeland will serve as a boost for him, after a few years of being thrown in at the deep end and being expected to make magic happen out of nothing.
