Benfica are interested in signing Keylor Navas from Real Madrid, according to Portuguese outlet Record.
The Primeira Liga champions have long been pursuing Jasper Cillessen of Barcelona, who has informed his club that he doesn’t want to play second fiddle to Marc-Andre ter Stegen and wants to leave the Camp Nou this summer. However, Benfica’s negotiations with the Catalans hit a stumbling block, and they are now looking into the possibility of taking the second-choice goalkeeper from Barcelona’s arch-rivals Real Madrid.
The future of Keylor Navas has been in the air for quite a while now, particularly since the arrival of Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea last summer. He has reportedly expressed his wish to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, but he may well be tempted by an offer of a regular, undisputed place between the posts at the Estadio Sport Lisboa e Benfica.
Benfica are apparently seriously determined to add an experienced shot-stopper to their ranks.
