Portuguese heavyweights Benfica are inches away from sealing their first summer signing with Nigeria defender Tyronne Ebuehi already in Lisbon to conclude his transfer from ADO Den Haag.
The 22-year-old right-back made a strong impression during the 2017/18 season in the Netherlands which got him nominated by VoetbalPrimeur as one of the 10 best defenders in the Eredivisie.
Ebuehi missed the final stage of the campaign through injury but his flying form for Den Haag was more than enough to turn Benfica’s head.
The Portuguese giants are on the brink of sealing the move for the highly-rated defender according to Ojogo.
Transfer details have yet to be disclosed but it now looks almost certain that Benfica will conclude a deal for the Nigeria international to move to Estadio da Luz during the next couple of days.
Tyronne Ebuehi’s fantastic season in the Netherlands did not go unnoticed by the Nigeria manager Salisu Yusuf. Den Haag defender has been named in Nigeria’s provisional World Cup squad and is expected to be an important part of the team in Russia.
