Benfica are weighing up move for Rubin Kazan defender Cristian Ansaldi, according to A Bola.
The Eagles have enjoyed a great start to the season, on both domestic and European stage, and boss Jorge Jesus is now determined to keep the club at the right track.
The gaffer is not entirely satisfied with his options at left back position and is keen to add a new left defender in January.
Summer arrivals Emerson and especially Joan Capdevila failed to live up to the expectations and they are considered the weak spots in the team.
According to A Bola, Jesus has made Rubin Kazan defender Cristian Ansaldi his number one target in January.
The Argentine has just over six months left on his contract, meaning that he should be available at a cut-back price in January, which suits Benfica just fine as the Eagles are looking to cut down spending in order to cope with the economic crisis.
