Benfica managed to earn another Liga NOS title, after a year-long wait, but now they could be losing their most prized asset. President of the Lisbon club Luis Filipe Vieira has admitted that the only way for the club to keep hold of Joao Felix would be to sell the forward to a club with a view to a return on loan, reports the Mirror.
The 19-year-old forward has a release clause of £105m and it is highly likely that it will be activated this summer. Vieira spoke to the media about the potential ways of keeping the teenager at the club for at least another year, but it is obvious that it could be an impossible task, considering Manchester City and Manchester United are amongst the interested clubs.
“If someone bids 120 million euros it is not worth dreaming that he will stay”, Vieira conceded, as the starlet is getting closer to his departure from Portugal.
