Benfica put their eyes on Verdu

Reports in the Portuguese press today claim that Benfica are interested in signing Joan Verdu from Deportivo La Coruna.

A Bola claims that Benfica are now interested in bringing the former Barcelona youngster to Portugal, as they look to build for next season. His agent, Magico Diaz, told the newspaper that it is understandable that clubs are tracking him, but that his future could still lie at the Riazor.

“He is a free player. It is natural that Benfica and other clubs are following him. I cannot say anything more right now though because it would not benefit anybody,” he said.
