Benfica will make star player Javi Garcia available for sale at the end of the season, Record has revealed.
The former Real Madrid player has been attracting a lot of interest with his performances over the last couple of years and he could be the subject of a real bidding war in the summer.
Manchester United and Inter have already shown interest in the 25-year-old and Portuguese daily Record claims Benfica will listen to offers for the player’s services at the end of the season.
The Eagles president recently confirmed that the club would have to sell two star players in the summer in order to balance the books and while it is almost certain that Nico Gaitan will be one of them, the Portuguese newspaper believes Javi Garcia will be the other player to leave La Luz.
The solid showings of Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic have convinced the club chiefs the 23-year-old would be a worthy replacement for Javi Garcia, and they are now ready to sell the Spaniard to the highest bidder.
The highly rated midfielder has a contract until June 2014 at La Luz, with his release clause standing at €30 million.
