hot-transfer-newsBenfica rekindle interest in Campbell

Primeira Liga champions Benfica are set to launch a fresh assault on Arsenal forward Joel Campbell, Record has learned.

The Eagles were unsuccessful in their attempts to recruit the Costa Rica star in the summer, and they will attempt to make things right this January.

Benfica were expected to close the deal for Uruguayan forward Jonathan Rodriguez, but with transfer talks threatening to fall through, the club are turning their attention towards Campbell.

The Eagles are set to contact Arsenal regarding the talented striker before submitting an official proposal for the player’s services.

The problem is that Arsene Wenger does not seem too keen on letting Campbell leave in spite of using him only sparingly this season.

And with new Olympiakos coach Vitor Pereira showing interest in the Costa Rican, Benfica will have to work hard of they want to lure the forward to Estadio da Luz.

Bordeaux keen on Chantome

French daily newspaper L’Equipe has suggested that Bordeaux are hoping to recruit midfielder Clement Chantome from Paris Saint-Germain.

Les Girondins are on the lookout for a quality central midfielder and they have been forced to explore other targets as the loan move for Nathaniel Chalobah fell through.

According to L’Equipe, Bordeaux have expressed their interest in PSG midfielder Clement Chantome, whom they plan to sign on loan until the end of the season.

The experienced footballer will probably be allowed to leave on loan only if he signs a new deal at Parc des Princes, with his current contract due to expire at the end of the season.

And while Saint Etienne and Toulouse are also keen, it would appear as though Bordeaux have the upper hand.

Clement Chantome, 27, has only made six substitute appearances in the league this season, while he had impressed during loan spell with le Tefece last term.

Dynamo Kiev submit offer for Tabanou

Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev have submitted an official proposal for Saint Etienne full-back Franck Tabanou, according to Infosport +, a program on Canal +.

Les Verts have enjoyed a brilliant first part of the season, climbing to third in Ligue 1, and a number of their star players have caught the eye of Europe’s top clubs.

One of them is former Toulouse winger Franck Tabanou, who has been used as left-back at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

According to the latest reports, Dynamo Kiev have offered around €5 million for the highly rated footballer.

It remains to be seen whether the proposal will be accepted by Saint Etienne, a team that can be backed at 8/5 to see off Rennes on Sunday.

Franck Tabanou, 25, has made a total of 52 league appearances since joining from Toulouse, scoring 3 goals in the process.
