Benfica have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Argentine forward Rogelio Funes Mori.
The 22-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at Estadio da Luz, and is hoping to impress his new employers.
Benfica eventually managed to win the race for the talented footballer with arch rivals Porto, adding another potential superstar to the existing pool of talent.
Rogelio Funes Mori began his professional career at River Plate and has so far made exactly 100 league appearances for the Argentine giants, scoring 20 goals in the process.
He is widely regarded as one of Argentina’s most talented forwards and has finally been given an opportunity to impress in Europe.
Funes Mori has represented los Albicelestes at Under-20 level, while he earned his first full cap in a friendly against Brazil back in September 2012. The interesting thing is his twin brother Ramiro still plies his trade at River Plate.
