Benfica sign Brazilian starlet

Benfica have completed the signing of Bahia midfielder Talisca, the Brazilian club announced on their official website.

The Eagles have agreed to pay €4 million for the highly rated footballer, with the transfer fee to be divided between no less than five parties.

Benfica officials did well to keep the deal under wraps as they secured the signature of one of Brazil’s hottest prospects, who will have a great opportunity to continue his development at Estadio da Luz.

Anderson Souza Conceicao joined Bahia in 2009 and has so far made a total of 60 league appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals in the process.

The attacking midfielder has also made two appearances for Brazil Under-21 side at the 2013 World Youth Festival in Toulon and he is predicted a bright future in the game.

It remains to be seen whether Talisca will be immediately given a chance to fight for his place in the starting line-up or if he will be farmed out on loan next season.
