Portuguese giants Benfica have completed the signing of defender Ezequiel Garay from Real Madrid, the Eagles have revealed on their official website.
After Benfica and Real Madrid reached an agreement over the transfer fee, thought to be around €10 million, the player put pen to paper to a long-term deal while on international duty with Argentina.
The 24-year-old defender failed to realize his potential at Santiago Bernabeu after making a switch from Racing Santander and has now decided to leave Madrid in search for first team football.
Garay has been mentioned as a makeweight in the deal taking Fabio Coentrao to Real Madrid and has now completed a switch to La Luz.
The talented defender is expected to form a centre-back partnership with experienced Brazilian Luisao.
