Benfica starlet in high demand
Portuguese newspaper A Bola has claimed that Benfica forward Ivan Cavaleiro has caught the eye of Europe’s top clubs.
The youngster, who turned 20 just few days ago, has yet to be handed his senior debut at Estadio da Luz, but he has largely impressed playing for the reserve side that compete in Portugal’s second tier.
After notching 12 goals in 38 league matches last term, Cavaleiro has already netted 7 times in 10 fixtures this season, so no wonder top European clubs are casting admiring glances his way.
A Bola understands that Benfica have already rejected a €2.5 million offer from an unnamed Italian club for the player’s services as they regard him a hot prospect for the future.
Cavaleiro is a member of Portugal Under-21 side and he has scored 2 goals in 3 matches in the 2015 European Championship qualifiers.
After narrowly missing out on the league title last term, Benfica are 2/1 to make things right this season.
Inter eyeing D’Ambrosio
Inter Milan are considering a January bid for Torino defender Danilo D’Ambrosio, according to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport.
The Neroazzurri have been on the lookout for a new right-sided defender since Walter Mazzarri took over the reigns, but they were unable to lure any of their targets to Giuseppe Meazza in the summer.
After showing interest in Dusan Basta and Mauricio Isla, Inter have lately turned their attention to Torino’s Danilo D’Ambrosio.
Having watched the full-back in action on several occasions this season, the Nerazzurri are ready to make their interest concrete and try to sign the 25-year-old in the January transfer window.
D’Ambrosio, who played for Potenza and Juve Stabia before joining Torino, has started each of the eight league games this season, scoring 2 goals in the process.
The highly rated full-back has also been tipped to earn his first Italy cap in the near future and could even be in contention for a place in the Azzurri World Cup squad.
Kjetil Haug subject of ‘serious offer’
Norwegian side Sarpsborg have revealed they have received a ‘serious offer’ for talented goalkeeper Kjetil Haug.
The 15-year-old recently completed a trial with Manchester United, and there is every chance it was the Red Devils that made a bid for his services.
However, it is important to note that Arsenal, Manchester City and Everton are all believed to be keen.
“We have got a serious offer for Kjetil and we have been informed that another offer will come from another club,” Sarpsborg representative confessed to Sarpsborg Arbeiderblad.
“What we would like to do is to enter into serious negotiations regarding a transfer of Kjetil.
“Due to respect for the clubs, we do not want to comment on names or whether it is a club Kjetil has visited.”
The highly rated goalkeeper appears to be on his way to English Premier League, with his current employers looking to sell him to the highest bidder.
