Portuguese giants Benfica are hot on the trail of Rosario Central midfielder Franco Emanuel Cervi, according to A Bola.

The interesting thing is that Sporting Lisbon were the first European side to show interest in the 21-year-old footballer, but their arch rivals have now joined the race as well.

Benfica have been keeping close tabs on the talented footballer and they plan to try and lure him to Estadio da Luz in the winter.

Franco Cervi has shown a great deal of potential since coming through the youth ranks at Rosario Central, having scored 5 goals in 25 league appearances.

Everything suggests that a move to Europe is already on the cards for the attacking midfielder, with Portuguese Primeira Liga his most likely next destination.

A Bola has also learned that Benfica are keen on Lanus midfielder Oscar Junior Benitez, another footballer who is on the radar of Sporting Lisbon.
