Spanish daily newspaper Marca has suggested that Benfica have all but agreed a deal to sign full-back Aaron Martin from Espanyol.
The Eagles have reportedly had a €9 million bid accepted by the player’s current employers, but the transfer is unlikely to be completed in the coming days.
Namely, Benfica first want to cash in on left-back Alex Grimaldo, who is reportedly on the verge of joining Napoli.
The Eagles have pulled off a real coup by winning the chase for Aaron Martin, considering that he was also on the radar of Manchester City, Manchester United and Napoli.
The 21-year-old has shown a great deal of potential since coming through the youth ranks at Espanyol, making 62 La Liga appearances so far.
