Primeira Liga outfit Benfica have been showing interest in Atletico Madrid midfielder Joshua Guilavogui, reports A Bola.
The Eagles seem to be preparing for life without Enzo Perez, who is on the radar of Europe’s top clubs and they are on the lookout for a new holding midfielder.
According to A Bola, Benfica officials plan to make a move on French starlet Joshua Guilavogui this summer.
With Atletico Madrid eyeing their own Jan Oblak, the Eagles plan to include the Frenchman in a deal that could see the goalkeeper move to Vicente Calderon as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois.
Benfica missed out on Joshua Guilavogui last summer as he opted to join los Colchoneros, but the 23-year-old has since managed just one league appearance for the club, while spending last six months on loan at Saint Etienne.
The highly rated footballer has been working hard on his recovery from an injury he sustained in April, and he is expected to be fit for the start of the new season.
