Portuguese giants Benfica will not be selling star player Alex Grimaldo on the cheap, club chairman Luis Filipe Vieira has revealed.
The Spanish full-back has seen his stock rise a great deal since he arrived in a cut-price deal from Barcelona, as the likes of Man City, Man Utd, Juventus and few other top clubs have been casting admiring glances his way.
It is believed that some of his suitors will make their move at the end of the season, and a €30 million proposal was bandied about.
However, while other clubs would jump at the opportunity to make a serious profit on the 21-year-old footballer, Benfica want more money if they are to let the Spaniard leave.
“For €30 million, he does not leave,” the Eagles president Luis Filipe Vieira told Correio da Manha TV.
The talented footballer has only made 10 league appearances since joining from Barcelona due to a succession of injuries, but he has clearly showed enough to catch the eye of top European sides.
