Sky Sports Italia understands that AS Roma are weighing up summer move for Benfica striker Lima.
The Giallorossi are searching for a new centre forward as they are set to stay without Pablo Daniel Osvaldo in the summer.
According to Sky Sports Italia, sporting director Walter Sabatini has met with FIFA agent Ernesto Bronzetti, who has been given permission from the Brazilian to represent him in talks with Roma.
The only problem is that Benfica are not interested in selling their prized asset after the forward largely impressed in his first season at Estadio da Luz.
Unlike most other players, who are signed in order to be resold for profit few years later, Lima was lured from Braga last summer purely for sporting reasons.
Having scored 29 goals in 48 competitive matches this season, the 29-year-old fully justified the €4 million transfer fee and Roma clearly face a battle on their hands in an attempt to bring him to Stadio Olimpico.
