(GSM) – Internazionale boss Rafael Benítez is confident the team can lift both the Serie A and the FIFA Club World Cup championships in his first season in charge.

Benítez is happy with his team’s recent performances after a horrible few games fueled speculation that he is set to be sacked by Inter president Massimo Moratti.

When asked to give his first six months at Inter a score out of 10, Benitez replied: “6.75. The team can still improve. There are many injured players and when we are all ready you will see an even better team.

“I am happy with the effort that the team has made in the last two games. I am very proud of my players in this period.

“The participation in the Club World Cup was earned by the players who are still here, by the club and not just by the coach. I must only think that we can win.

“I have confidence that we can win other trophies, even the Scudetto.

“At the beginning of the season when everyone was available we played good football. Many of the players who did well last year are now unavailable from Julio Cesar to Maicon, from Diego Milito to Thiago Motta who has come back.”

The FIFA Club World Cup is set to kick-off on December 12.
