Benitez keen on Mikel reunion

Napoli are considering a £5m offer for Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, according to the Metro.

The Nigeria international, who has regularly been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, made sixteen appearances under the Serie A side’s new manager Rafael Benitez last season.

Galatasaray have also been linked with a move for the 26 year old, who has previously expressed his desire to remain at the club who he joined seven years ago.

Mikel has made over 250 appearances for the Blues, and has won the Premier League, four FA Cups, the League Cup, the Champions League and the Europa League.

Individually, he has twice been named both Chelsea Young Player of the Year and African Player of the Year , while at international level he was named in the Team of the Tournament at this year’s Africa Cup of Nation’s, where he was victorious with the Super Eagles.
