Benitez rejects Nottingham Forest

According to a recent report from AS, Rafael Benitez has rejected Nottingham Forest following reported managerial advances.

There are some big question marks hanging over the head of Steve Cooper right now with the popular belief being that he’s destined for the sack at the City Ground sooner rather than later. Alas, after reports came out that indicated he’ll be staying put for the time being, some wondered how much of a chance he’d be given – whereas others saw it as more of a stay of execution.

Benitez is the kind of manager that tends to get tipped for positions like this on a pretty frequent basis but with other jobs out there, and with Forest’s position looking fairly dire, you’d have to imagine he doesn’t want to take the risk.

Cooper could always turn things around but if he doesn’t, we’re bound to see a big hunt commence in the weeks ahead.
