Rafa Benitez will look to buy a winger this summer, after it has emerged that current Liverpool pair of John Arne Riise and Harry Kewell could well leave Anfield this summer. Franck Ribéry of Bayern Munich is the latest winger that the Liverpool gaffer is looking at, according to Goal.com.
The French winger has had an impressive debut season with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, which has attracted the interest from other top European clubs. The Liverpool boss might have to pay a transfer fee somewhere in the region of ₤20 million to prise the French winger from the German champions, that too according to Goal.com.
Rafa Benitez has had a difficult task finding a suitable winger for the club that fits their style of play. Harry Kewell, Jermaine Pennant, Yosef “Yossi” Benayoun, and Fabio Aurellio, have all been in and out of the starting eleven since their arrival. Dutch international Ryan Babel is probably the winger that has impressed the most out of them all since his arrival last season. The young Dutch winger and Ribery have a relatively similar style of play – they both like to run at defenders.
Franck Ribéry joined Bayern Munich last season in a €25million transfer deal from French outfit Marseille.
