Competition: Championship
Market: Benito Carbone to be next Leeds manager
Odds: 11/1 @ William Hill
With Leeds owner Massimo Cellino having sacked head coach Dave Hockaday after just six league games, all talk is on who will replace him. The likes of Steve Clarke, Oscar Garcia and Rolando Maran have been named as potential successors, but it could be their head of academy Benito Carbone who is the next manager at the helm.
Due to Cellino’s Italian links, it seems likely he will appoint an Italian coach in charge of Leeds, but there’s been no movement just yet. Hockaday spent just two months as head coach at the club, and wasn’t in charge of the players being brought in or sold. That meant top scorer Ross McCormack was shipped to fellow Championship side Fulham for £11M, and Billy Sharp brought in the other direction.
It was clear manager Benito Carbone was brought in to play a big role at the club, and William Hill are giving odds of 11/1 for him to be promoted as head coach. He’s been absent from the club after visiting a sick family member in his native country.
Bet: Benito Carbone to be the next Leeds United manager following Hockaday sacking @ 11/1 with William Hill >>
