England striker Darren Bent is set to join Sunderland after reports that the Tottenham star passed a medical on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old should complete his move to Steve Bruce’s team for a fee of around 12 million pounds on Wednesday.
Sunderland assistant manager Eric Black said: “His record in the Premier League is outstanding – I think he’s scored about 50 goals in 100-odd appearances, a phenomenal return.
“There’s a plethora of different things we think he’ll bring.”
