Manchester City are readying summer bid for Aston Villa star Christian Benteke, according to Sunday People.
The Citizens are slowly coming to terms with losing Edin Dzeko at the end of the season, and have started searching for a new centre forward.
Napoli’s Edinson Cavani remains their number one target, but not even Manchester City are prepared to meet the player’s £55 million valuation.
It is for that reason that they are turning their attention towards Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, according to Sunday People.
The Belgium international has been in outstanding form since joining the Villans from Genk, and being just 22 he looks a great investment for the future.
Benteke will not come cheap, that’s for sure, but Manchester City are willing to offer around £20 million for the highly rated forward.
The 22-year-old has scored a total of 14 goals in 27 competitive appearances for Aston Villa this season.
