Karim Benzema has resumed Real Madrid training following his extended leave after playing for France at Euro 2012.

The prolific hitman made it to the quarter-finals at Euro 2012 with Les Bleus, where they were beaten 2-0 by eventual champions Spain.

Benzema has returned from his holidays, and took part in the opening session of the second week of training for Jose Mourinho’s men.

Real Madrid commenced their pre-season preparations on July 16 after the break, but several players have yet to return following their participation at the continental tournament in Poland and Ukraine.

Players such as Mesut Oezil, Sami Khedira, Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Xabi Alonso, Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe are all still away on their breaks.

Madrid are in preparations for Tuesday’s friendly game against Oviedo.
