Benzema heading back to Lyon?

According to a recent report from AS, Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema looks set to return to Lyon during the summer transfer window.

This is according to the striker’s former agent, and while they may prove that this isn’t the most consistent of sources, it would be a move that does make a lot of sense.

Lyon was where Benzema first burst onto the scene, and at the age of 33, he’s accomplished a whole lot during his time in the beautiful game.

It’d be the kind of return that would benefit both parties, and with Benzema clearly still possessing a love for the club, it’d be nice to see him go somewhere where he is truly appreciated.

Benzema has been arguably Real Madrid’s second strongest and most successful player across the last decade behind Cristiano Ronaldo, and as the years go on, we hope that his legacy starts to represent that.
