According to France Football, Karim Benzema is being tipped to be a possible replacement for Edinson Cavani at Paris Saint-Germain. While Cavani is still with the club all signs are pointing towards him leaving, with Real Madrid reportedly being interested in bringing him to the Bernabeu. If the move goes through then it wouldn’t be all too surprising to see Benzema go back in the other direction, especially given that he’d be returning to his homeland.
The Frenchman played for Lyon before making the move to Real, and it would seem like a natural return for him given his track record in Ligue 1.
If they can’t bring Karim to the capital, though, PSG are said to be interested in turning their attention towards Mauro Icardi who has been heavily linked with a switch away from Inter Milan.
Whatever the case may be, it certainly seems like things are heating up just in time for the January transfer window.
