Benzema wants summer exit

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema hopes to leave Santiago Bernabeu this summer, according to El Confidencial.

The Frenchman has enjoyed his first season as an undisputed starter for los Blancos, and he was in fine form, helping the club win Champions League and Copa del Rey trophies.

However, despite having the confidence of boss Carlo Ancelotti, Benzema is far from happy with his status in the squad, as he does not feel fully incorporated in the group.

Namely, the France international has been unable to establish a good rapport with quite a few players in the squad and he, therefore, plans to leave the club at the earliest opportunity.

And while Benzema has a number of suitors in English Premier League, El Confidencial reports that he hopes to return to French Ligue 1.

The 26-year-old has done well this season, scoring a total of 24 goals in 52 competitive appearances for los Merengues.
