(GSM) – Karim Benzema has reiterated his wish to stay at Real Madrid. The criticised striker has been linked with a move to Manchester United but reaffirmed his commitment to Real despite a struggling debut season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“I am very happy at Real Madrid,” Benzema told La Sexta, the Spanish TV station. “I want to stay forever. I can play better. I just need more time, you haven’t seen the best of Benzema.”
On his battle with Gonzalo Higuain to lead the line for Los Blancos, Benzema added that “I can build a little more to my game.”
The former Olympique Lyon hitman confirmed that “now I have a Spanish teacher and can talk to my team mates.”
The France international has netted eight goals and provided five assists in 29 appearances for Real this season.
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was reportedly keen on signing Benzema to pair him up front with Wayne Rooney.
