(GSM) – Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson poured lots of praises on Dimitar Berbatov for his all round display against Tottenham Hotspur.
With Wayne Rooney missing with a groin injury, the Bulgarian led the line against his old club and it was his fine run and flick which led to Patrice Evra being upended in the area for United’s first penalty of the afternoon.
Ryan Giggs and Nani grabbed the all-important goals for the Red Devils, but Sir Alex was keen to highlight the United forward Berbatov’s all-round display.
“Dimitar was marvellous throughout and he led the line very well,” Ferguson mentioned at the club’s official website.
“He played a great role for us and had three great attempts on goal which he was very unlucky not to see go in.
“He’s a great player, but it’s one of those things that when you buy someone for £30million if he’s not scoring three goals a week he’s going to get criticised. It’s just part of life here,” Scot tactician added.
