Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov has been named in Manchester United’s squad to take on Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.
The 30-year-old, who is United’s top scorer this term with 22 goals, has missed their last three matches with a groin strain, but has now overcome the problem as United face the final four matches of their league campaign, and potentially two more Champions League games.
“Dimitar is fit again,” United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said.
“He had a slight groin strain but he has trained all week.”
In a further boost to United’s stocks, midfielder Darren Fletcher made it through a half of the reserve team’s meeting with Arsenal on Thursday night as he bids to overcome a debilitating virus that has kept him out since March 6.
Ferguson said he could be included in United’s squad for their Champions League semi-final second-leg clash with Schalke at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
“He is progressing and it is possible we could include him on Wednesday for another 45 minutes,” Ferguson said.
“It is good that he is back. He has put his weight back on. He has worked hard in the gym. He is a great addition to the squad.”
