Berbatov nearly joined Manchester City

Legendary striker Dimitar Berbatov has revealed that he almost joined Manchester City prior to heading to Manchester United. The night prior to his Old Trafford move, his agent revealed that another team were interested in signing him – City. Berbatov was adamant that he wanted to make the jump to the red half of Manchester, but his agent stated that he’d get more money if he went to the Etihad.

Needless to say, it wound up being a productive move for Berbatov, who had some great moments throughout his four years with United. While he may not be highly regarded as one of the best forwards of all time, to many, his technique and skill on the ball is up there with the best of them.

The Bulgarian forward’s most recent club was Kerala Blasters, where he spent seven months before heading back out into the free agency pool where he remains to this day.
