The Daily Mail are today reporting that Tottenham could be set to hijack Fulham’s bid for Dimitar Berbatov on the final day of this summer transfer window.
This comes after Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted that he did not know what the future holds for the Bulgarian and that he could be heading to back to White Hart Lane.
He has really struggled at United and seems to have moved further down the pecking order after the arrival of Robin Van Persie.
It seemed as though the Cottagers were set to sign Berbatov, but this reported interest from Spurs may see him change his mind at the last moment.
The 31-year-old of course enjoyed a great spell in North London and was loved by the fans at Tottenham.
However at Fulham, it is a chance to work with Martin Jol yet again – who was the man he excelled under at Spurs.
This looks as though it is set to go right to the wire and it could come down to who offers the tricky striker the most amount of money.
Berbatov seems set to move to one of these English Premier League sides though, after a deal with Serie A outfit Fiorentina fell through.
