Mirror Football are today reporting that English Premier League new boys West Ham United are interested in signing Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.
The Bulgarian has expressed his desire to leave Old Trafford as he looks to play regular first team football and the Hammers are set to make a move on the striker.
Sam Allardyce has been looking to add to his front line in this summer’s transfer window and Berbatov could be a fantastic signing.
There is no doubt that with the right management and attitude the 31-year-old can be one of the best in the business. He is also proven at this level, something that Allardyce would take not of.
Berbatov made just 12 appearances for the Red Devils in the league last season but did still manage to find the net seven times which goes to show that he is a clinical finisher when given the chance.
It is likely that the former Tottenham man would need to take a pay cut if he did move to Upton Park but he may be willing to do this if he has more time on the pitch.
United have already added to their attacking options by signing Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund so could be ready to let the man they bought for £30 million go.
