Dimitar Berbatov believes that Jadon Sancho would make Manchester United better, but he does not want Mason Greenwood to be dropped from the team for him, as quoted in The Daily Star.
The former United striker believes that if Alexis Sanchez does not return from his loan spell at Inter Milan, then it would make room for Borussia Dortmund winger Sancho.
However, Berbatov is worried that if the 20-year-old England international does arrive at Old Trafford this summer, then it will affect the playing time that Greenwood would get next season.
According to The Manchester Evening News, United are interested in signing the former Manchester City prospect this summer.
The Daily Star quotes Berbatov as saying: “They need a centre-back, maybe a right back also as Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the only option at the moment.
“It looks like Alexis Sanchez might stay at Inter permanently, which would make room for Jadon Sancho to go to United from Dortmund, and it would be a very interesting transfer.
“But who, out of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood or Anthony Martial, makes way for Sancho? If they get the England man and the defenders, they can improve to a higher level.
“I don’t want to see Greenwood dropped at this point while he develops, he could be very special and has earned his chance to shine next season.”
