Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi insists his summer spending has come to an end. “No more players will arrive,” he assured. The Rossoneri have moved cautiously on the market so far and their poor pre-season form has led critics to claim they are still short of the players required to be truly competitive. But Berlusconi, speaking before last night’s victory against Juventus, warned fans not to expect any more new faces.

“We have made two great signings,” he stated. “A centre-forward and a defende, players who have joined our champions. “Us Rossoneri fans can’t be happy with results over the summer, but we’ve had important players missing and a series of tough games.“Milan can be protagonists in Italy and in Europe by playing more intelligently when it comes to tactics.”

Berlusconi concluded by insisting that Ronaldinho could finally deliver a year after joining the Italian giants from Barcelona. “We bought him because he is the best in the world, there is nobody like him around,” continued the official. “He is a great and he’ll always be.” Not shy in offering his tactical advice, Berlusconi also revealed how his club should get the best out of the Brazilian enigma. “He shouldn’t play in midfield as he’s wasted there,” he argued. “It’ll be better if he was further up the field, closer to the penalty area. “He would win us so many free-kicks and penalties which would give us something more than the other teams.”
