(GSM) – Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has revealed his intention to bring Juventus star Alessandro Del Piero to the Italian club.
Juventus defeated Milan 2-1 on Saturday night in the Serie A as Del Piero scored his 179th goal to become the Bianconeri’s record goalscorer, eclipsing former top scorer Giampaolo Boniperti.
The 35-year-old has become a Juventus icon after joining them from Padova in 1993, and Berlusconi wants to see Del Piero in a Milan shirt before announcing his retirement.
Speaking to Sky Italia after Saturday’s defeat, Berlusconi said: “We played well on Saturday evening. It’s a shame that we lost.
“But Juve are a great team and above all they have a great player.
“I went into the dressing room to congratulate everyone and above all Del Piero.
“I told him that I know his contract is up and I offered him [the chance] to come to Milan.
“He is an extraordinary champion. Hopefully he might finish his career at Milan,” Berlusconi concluded.
