According to Sky Sports, Bernard is currently travelling from Brazil to Merseyside in order to complete his medical ahead of a proposed move to Everton. The Shakhtar midfielder has been viewed as a hot commodity throughout the course of the summer transfer window, with a variety of clubs attempting to sign him.
Chelsea were said to have submitted a bid in a last-ditch attempt to lure Bernard away from Goodison Park, but alas, it appears as if they’ve come up short.
Everton boss Marco Silva is believed to be the man who convinced Bernard to make the switch from Shakhtar Donetsk to Everton, as the Toffees continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. They’ve spent big during this window, following on from last year, but the real test will come this weekend when they attempt to start their Premier League campaign off with a win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
