Champions League winners Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Monaco midfielder Bernardo Silva, according to Le 10 Sport.
The Catalans have been impressed with the youngster’s performances last season and they hope to recruit him at the earliest opportunity.
Le 10 Sport has learned that Barcelona are readying a substantial proposal for the player’s services that Monaco may not be able to refuse.
Bernardo Silva joined Monaco on a loan deal from Benfica a year ago, before his move was made permanent last January.
The 20-year-old did well to score 9 goals in 32 Ligue 1 appearances, and was eventually even handed his Portugal debut.
Silva represented the Selecao at the Under-21 UEFA Championship, scoring a goal in the 5-0 semi-final win over Germany, but Portugal eventually lost to Sweden in the final.
Manchester City are another top side that have been showing interest in the talented footballer, but Barcelona appear to be leading the chase at the moment.
