Premier League heavyweights Arsenal are said to have agreed on a deal to sign German goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
The Gunners are looking to strengthen in goal and increase competition for places ahead of the new Premier League season. The current No.1 Petr Cech has only one year remaining in his contract with Arsenal and the Gunners are already laying grounds for life without the experienced shot-stopper.
According to the latest reports coming from the German media outlet Sport Bild, Bayern Leverkusen custodian Bernd Leno and Arsenal have already reached an agreement over a summer move which could be finalised in the next couple of days.
Leno has been linked with Napoli and Liverpool but appears to have set his heart on an Arsenal switch.
He is under contract with Bundesliga side until 2020 and is believed to be under a €25 million release clause.
Bayer Leverkusen have already signed Eintracht Frankfurt’s goalie Lukas Hradecky on a five-year deal to replace the wantaway shot stopper Leno.
