Bertrand to fight for Chelsea future

Chelsea full-back Ryan Bertrand has dismissed reports that he is about to move away from the club, Sky Sports understands.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for the England international, with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers having worked with him whilst managing the reserves at Stamford Bridge, and also taking him on loan whilst at Reading.

However, the 23 year old is keen to remain with the Blues, and fight Ashley Cole for a place in the Blues starting XI next season.

Bertand came through Chelsea’s youth system in 2006, enjoying loan spells with Bournemouth, Norwich City and Nottingham Forest, as well as the Royals, before breaking in to the first team under Carlo Ancelotti in 2011.

He featured in half of the Chelsea’s league games last season, and scored his first goals for the club in the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City and the 6-0 League Cup third round rout over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
