Besiktas remain near the top of the Turkish Super Lig following a 2-1 victory over Istanbul BB in a local derby on Friday.

The first 80 minutes of the match went by without goals, as the two sides saved the best for last.

Besiktas thought to have scored the winning through Rodrigo Tello on 80 minutes but Serhat Gülpinar silenced the home crowd by equalizing four minutes later. However, another minute later Gokhan Zan allowed the fans to resume their celebrations, 2-1.

Besiktas move into second place, at least for the moment, at three points from leaders Sivasspor who face Fenerbahce on Saturday.
