Turkish giants Besiktas have moved to confirm their interest in Dinamo Zagreb defender Ivo Pinto.
The 24-year-old has been in fine form ever since he joined the Croatian champions from CFR Cluj a year and a half ago, and he even managed to break into the Portugal national team.
His impressive displays clearly did not go unnoticed as Croatian coach in charge of Besiktas, Slaven Bilic hopes to lure the talented defender to Turkey.
“Yes we are interested in Pinto. We are looking to bring in a right back in January.” Bilic told Croatian TV station HTV.
“We have not met or agreed a deal with the player or his club. He is one of the players we are currently looking into.”
Ivo Pinto, who is also followed by Aston Villa, is reportedly valued at €5 million and he could be leaving his current employers in the January transfer window. The right-back has a contract until June 2017 in Zagreb, but he has been in high demand of late.
Ivo Pinto began his professional career at FC Porto, but left the club for Rio Ave without making a single league appearance for the Dragons. The full-back then kick-started his career while at CFR Cluj and has been performing at a very high level at Dinamo Zagreb.
