(GSM) – Besiktas lost touch with the best placed teams in the Turkish Super Lig following a 2-0 defeat Gaziantepspor on Saturday.
The Istanbul outfit needed a win to remain at an acceptable distance from local rivals Fenerbahce and Galatasaray, but instead allowed the home side to collect the points.
Julio Cesar Sousa, one of three Brazilians in Gaziantepspor’s line-up, scored the opening goal in the 11th minute.
Six minutes after half time, it was Cameroon’s Armand Deumi to make it 2-0.
Besiktas are now in fifth place at six points from leaders Fenerbahce.
